A map does not tell the whole story of a day
Two stops may look close together on a screen. In reality, there are departures, breaks, meals, check-ins and the desire to stop for a view. That is why I do not fill every day to the last minute. I choose a route that leaves time to enjoy what you find along the way.
Big landscapes deserve time
My photographs of Monument Valley show how much the same place changes from one viewpoint to another. Arriving, taking a picture and leaving can mean missing the best part: watching the light, hearing the silence and taking the time to be there. A well-planned pause can mean more than another stop.
The trip depends on the travellers
Some people enjoy long days of driving; others prefer an easier pace. Some want a mix of cities and nature; others are looking mainly for parks and landscapes. Before choosing a route, we talk about how you like to travel, who is coming with you and how much time you have. I then build a realistic sequence of stops, services and overnight stays.
